Full disclaimer here, I used the base structures from LEGO sets #10186 General Grievous™ and #4483 AT-AT™ as the base for this holiday creation. I then embellished to my hearts content preparing them for Grievous’ holiday gift giving outing. From what I understand, General Grievous became rather holly and jolly one year and attached a mouse droid sled to his friendly dog, loaded them both up with presents, and set out with a basket of cookies and candy canes to spread cheer to the whole galaxy.
I built up a white snowy base for the characters to trudge through and I had to elevate Grievous to create the illusion that he was taller than his faithful pet.
It was a challenge to build boots on Grievous. First I tried a pair of black boots, but they just didn’t feel right, so candy candy boots were created.
A scarf and mittens came next, and building these took a bit of fine tuning. Ball and sockets were used to create the scarf allowing it to wrap around his neck and blow in the breeze. His mittens turned out to be absolutely adorable with just a few pieces needed to create them.
One of the greatest challenges on this build was convincing Grievous to hold a large blue present. It all came down to finding the perfect balanced position, and a slight alteration to his arm to allow a connection point to attach the present to.
His pet needed a pack to hold all the presents, and matching earmuffs. A red and white leash kept them close together.
The mouse droid sled was fun to build, and it carried a freshly cut pine tree and plenty of decorations to spruce it up.
The last bit was a wicker basket full of sugar cookies and candy canes that he carried for the kids. The weight of the basket was too great for his arms to support, so clear cylinders had to help support it from below.
